Big island of Hawaii, hamakua coast. Earlier I had posted an abstract intimate shot of a 'wall' of palm trees. This is an image of the gulch they live in, and you can see them on the left. Layers of Hawaiian foliage, palm trees, and african tulip trees hug a waterfall of the Uma'Uma river. The waterfall, for reference is about 60-80 feet tall, I'm estimating. I descended down to the river bed and made my way up to the falls, but they weren't that interesting up close. I just loved this view from the bride that passes over the gulch. It's a huge distraction as you are driving along to come upon this, while trying to stay in your lane on a narrow bridge. Standing at this point, if you turn 180 degrees you are looking at the ocean. It's such a beautiful place. I hope my photo does it justice.
