This was taken at Messick Point as hurricane Igor was moving up the coast. It never made landfall but the day before a hurricane is off the coast the clouds are spectacular so I got up early at sunrise and went to the Point.

The sunrise was blazing so I hid it behind this hill made of dredge material. I wanted the light on the tree. I like to do tree studies. The clouds were there like I expected and were glorious. The light and the shadow did exactly what I wanted them to do.

I go to Messick Point when I want to do sunrises, birds or boats. It's a little paradise about 30 minutes out from home. It is usually worth the drive....especially at this hour. I was there this a.m. and it was 32 degrees...just a little different....and no clouds....so no landscape but I did get some birds.
