Last night I was out trying to get a Milky Way shot (I keep failing but keep trying). Although slightly disappointed with the results I did notice that the constellation of Ursa Major was very visible so I turned my camera to that.

There are a number of names for this constellation. I have always known it as the Plough although others call it the Big Dipper and I have ever heard it called the Saucepan.

No matter what it is called, it is one of the most recognisable constellations in the night sky and my favourite.
