i did this with 4 shots. 2 of the background (lens wasnt wide enough to do it in 1 shot), then a shot of him, and finally a shot of the dogs looking at me holding a ball! what a task that was.
i used a couple softboxes on my 2 speedlites, with one bare one behind him to get the rim light on the hair, which was supposed to be the lamp light.
the whole thing was inspired by the "Epic Gamer" shot i saw on here recently, as well as the Joel Grimes look. im still learning the whole processing thing, but im happy with the results.
