July 23, 2010 - central South Dakota - This storm had just dropped the world's largest hailstone in Vivian, SD about 90 minutes prior to this photo. The hailstone had melted some by the time it was measured, but the diameter was nearly 8 inches. I was lucky enough to capture a lightning bolt within the 1/30th second exposure.
