When the sky falls down | Near the refuge Locatelli, in the basin below the fork Toblin, you can admire the calm waters of the lakes "dei Piani". The area is enclosed in the "Tre Cime National Park", established in 1981. The Monte Paterno (Paternkofel in German), which overlooks the water surface, 2,746 m above sea level high belongs to the Dolomites of Sesto, alongside the most famous Three Peaks. Mountain historical and full of testimonies of World War I, at the time marked the border between Italy and Austria.
