Yes, golf courses and beaches are two places to avoid during storms (I tend to convince myself its safe when the action is moving out to sea)- I was counting a good 8 seconds between flash and thunder so happy the lightning was around 3 km away. Then the light rain turned to heavy (keeping the water of the front of the lens was pointless) and during my retreat lightning struck within 50 metres of where this photo was taken. A little more excitment than I needed!
