It's estimated that this ice was formed ~1000 years ago in the Breiðamerkurjökull Glacier in southeastern Iceland. This spot is pretty much the end of the line for this piece of ice at the Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon. Here it will slowly melt and return to the sea and then begin another journey. It's definitely humbling to think about all the things that have happened in the world since this ice formed.
