This is the Logan's Pass area on the Continental Divide . Bear Hat Mountain had a little cloud cap and the conditions looked so promising for an epic sunset. Lil M was on my right with a prime view of a mountain goat who was later joined by her baby. With only one lens in my arsenal on the new cam I wasn't able to get any wildlife so I had to make due with what I had. I've had the cam for about 3 weeks now and I have to say that overall I'm impressed. The d600 has a sensor dust issue which I was pretty disgusted with because I thought I would circumvent the problem by buying a refurbed unit. Not so, damn you Nikon but I have to say that image quality is outstanding. This shot was 5 stops underexposed for the sky which left everything else in the shadows. I took exposures for blending (which I hate doing) but was able to pull a ton if information out of this single exposure. I took shots with my Oly as well and it would have been a blending nightmare if I chose to process those shots. I had made up my mind that I was gonna return the cam but after seeing what can be done with underexposed raw files I'm sold. Yeah it took 35 Pec Pads and a quarter bottle of eclipse solution to get the sensor down to 5 specks but when you can increase the shadow slider 100% without noise, who's counting?
