The initial idea was very different and involved my niece in a tiger suit. I bought the costume when she was just born, it was age 12 months so I had to wait. About a week before I planned to shoot it the very talented Adrian Sommeling uploaded this flic.kr/p/e9KAGV... bugger!!!
So I had to re-think. I had tried taking pictures of tigers 18 months ago when I first had the idea. It was at Longleat Safari Park, I was in the tiger enclosure, my camera was out and ready to go, I had the perfect shot in sight but before I pressed the trigger even once Laura kindly pointed out that steam was bellowing out the bonnet of the car (as she tried to blow it out... through the window screen). So I put my foot down and sped out of there... and the lion enclousre... followed by the cheetas... oh! and the wolves, one of which I nearly ran over in a panic!
This tiger wasn't taken by me. A friend and very talented photographer local to me Miles Winterburn (www.flickr.com/photos/mileswinterburn) kindly let me use his image (www.flickr.com/photos/mileswinterburn/8648202986). It's the first time I've edited something into one of my images that isn't something I've created but I really appreciate him letting me use it. Thanks Miles!
So that's self portrait 2 of this project of 10. I've decided not to do a post on my blog... infact I've decided to bin the blog off completely, it's really not neccessary!
