This shot is of Vernazza, one of 5 small towns in the Cinque Terre region of Italy. Vernazza is the middle town and from there one can hike north or south to the other towns. An amazing place. Of course, if hiking isn't on you plan, well, there is train that takes you to each of the towns...5 minute train ride. Take the hike and ride the train back. As we did after shooting several night shots of Manarola. (Manarola is my favorite for a night shot.)
The vantage point for this shot is not from the more popular vantage point, but from a lower point. From here you get the magic of the Vernazza buildings, the church, the calm water, and, check out the incredible line of red buoys. I got intrigued with these red lines that after climbing to the more more popular spot, I decided to come down to the lower level because I was able to get longer lines in the frame. .
