It was so nice to get back out into the backcountry last weekend! My itch for alpine wilderness needed a good scratch, and this short trip sure did deliver.

This shot was taken from a small pond just beneath Minaret Lake in the Ansel Adams Wilderness. Throughout the afternoon the clouds kept building and I had really high hopes for an explosive sunset. Unfortunately as soon as I started shooting the clouds began to recede - this is one of my first shots from the evening before the skies started to clear. I really can't complain, though. This area is mind-blowingly gorgeous in any light.
