While walking alone in downtown Philadelphia one night, which is not generally recommended, I came upon an unexpected interesting play of light and reflections from lit arches under a series of bridges over the Schuylkill River. I liked the play of light and dark in the sequence of arcs and reflections, the contrasts of solid rock, concrete and steel against flowing water, and the accents of red and green lights.
Gary Holmes, photographer: I am an opportunist photographer of nature, landscapes, abstract, and other found objects of interest. I prefer to capture the spontaneity of things and events as they are occurring, and rarely photograph staged subjects other than portraits. Although I have been a photographer for decades, I have only been posting them for others to see since about September 2012.
