As the sun rose higher the mists began to burn off revealing more of the landscape with the dark tree tops contrasting nicely against the remaining mists. The sun was still low enough to create rays of light as they shone through the castles ramparts. The sun was far too bright to include in the composition so I needed to exclude it.
I chose to zoom in on the castle while still retaining some of the dark foreground vegetation to frame my image. I needed to take 2 images in landscape format and then blend them together to create my panorama. A single image wasn't wide enough to include the beautiful recession on the right side of the frame.
