During my trips to Rabat Morocco, I noticed that even in the downtown, more modern areas, many of the stores and shops would be closed for a while in the afternoon. As a tourist, this was a surprise to me since I wasn’t familiar with the local customs. Finding food at any time I wanted was difficult on my first visit. So, on subsequent trips to Rabat, my friends and I would buy loaves of bread, cheese and bottles of wine at the Medina markets and go down to the beach to eat. Not too inconvenient, actually.
At any rate, the fellow in this photo was taking his siesta by the ocean and I couldn’t resist this shot. What a life!
