The legendary Great White sharks in False Bay, Cape Town launch themselves into the air as they predate on seals. The predation attempt shown in the photo unfolded in a split second - some arial acrobatics from the seal as it attempts to move out of the way, the shark breaking the surface, another splash as the shark and seal re-enter the water and the event is over. In this attempt the seal outmaneuvered the shark to survive the ordeal. Clearly the photo is not in focus - it has been published merely to illustrate the moment. Any obvious comments about the lack of focus will be deleted!.
