It was still quite dark when the sun first peaked over the horizon. The low tide at Beach #5 provides stunning sand patterns and reflection pools, sure to please any landscape photographer.
I'm so thankful that I woke up in time to see this sunrise! I almost overslept, as our cottages at Symphony Palms do not have alarm clocks and my cell phone was totally dead. I woke up just about every hour on the hour to check my watch and see if it's time for sunrise yet. Then I finally woke up at 7:25 when I should have woken up at 7:00! So I grabbed my bag and tripod and ran over to the beach in under a minute. I got the tripod set up quick but then the remotes started acting up. I had to ditch one remote and grab another from the bag with fresher batteries. Everything worked. I started firing shots about 10 minutes before the sun crossed the horizon. It was hectic, but amazing.
