Flash floods are relentless in shaping the southwest of the USA. Every year many of them go through the canyons and carve out those marvels of nature. What you can see in this image is a bunch of debris accumulated around the main pool of Havasu Falls from a flash flood that happened a few days earlier... "the calm after the storm"...
The contrasting colors of the canyon walls, moss and the aquamarine pools are surreal (the creek is well known for its blue-green color and distinctive creamy-white travertine formations. This is due to large amounts of calcium carbonate that have precipitated out of the water and formed the limestone that lines on the creek and reflects its color so strongly). Thank you all for your support and visits!
