After a very long drive (almost 11 hours) from Shigatse, I finally arrived the guesthouse near Rongbuk monastery (the highest monastery in the world - 5,100 m.) at midnight. I couldn't wait to set up the tripod with 14 mm. lens to capture the starry night over the Rongbuk monastery. Unfortunately, Mt. Everest (at lower right of the frame) wasn't visible due to moving cloud. The starry sky didn't last long as few hours later the thick clouds moved in followed by the light snowfall. The original image was captured in RAW. The white balance was adjusted by ACR, then tonemapped with Photomatix Pro 4.2. The final image was fine-tuned with NIK software & Photoshop CS6.
