After our amazing stay in South Mineral Campground, we traveled across the state to Great Sand Dunes National Park. Driving up on the dunes from a distance was quite impressive, it's really hard to tell how massive they really are from pictures. However, they really didn't get too intimidating until I climbed them for sunset. It was windy at the base of the dunes, but those winds turned gail force as I climbed higher up the sand. If anyone's ever climbed a dune, you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that it was almost harder than climbing Mt Hood in some ways￢ﾀﾦand I didn't even make it to 'High Dune' like I had wanted to. The sun was setting and I had to find a composition, so I got a lower view of the sun setting behind a dune instead of the entire dune field for my foreground. However, the following night I prepared ahead and ended up with some cool shots that I'll share with you later.
