The Hooded Berryeater (Carpornis cucullata) is a cotinga endemic to Brazil, found only in the humid Atlantic Rainforest of the S and SE, from about 400 to 1600 meters high. They feed mostly on fruits and are important seed dispersers. Their characteristic loud call echoes in the forest and can be heard from a distance.
