When the wind decides to do it's thing in this part of the world, it does it properly. Shooting in these conditions can be a nightmare and that is a good description of this sunset. The clouds were however amazing and it was clear to the West so I knew it would be a good sunset. I went to a spot I had scouted on the Hosterio Pehoe island and prepared myself for the ensuing frustration.
The wind was coming at me almost directly and it was loaded with spray thrown up by the waves on the lake. I just managed by using one large lens cloth to cover the camera, pulling it away and firing off a few shots. Then I'd have to go stand in front of the camera to block the wind and spray, wipe the lens with another cloth, cover it with the large one, go stand behind the camera, pull away the cloth and shoot. The results were certainly worth the efforts!
