While I was absorbed and marveled at the fantastic Iguazu Falls in Brazil side, I found this very small butterfly sitting next to me. Later I learned the name of this butterfly which displays the design of lines and dots that gave it its unusual common name, the 88 butterfly. I also hear that 88 is a lucky number!!
To sum it up.. The 88 butterfly (Diaethria clymena) is one many exotic and mysterious butterflies that are considered natural treasures of the sub-tropical Amazon rainforest.
