After an exhausting trek through northern Thailand, I sat on the wooden bench and drank an entire bottle of water. I could barely move after hiking uphill for 15 kms in mid-day heat. But it was golden hour and when you are in Thailand, and the light is gorgeous there is no excuse not to take photographs.
I made this photograph of a Karen child, living in the village I stayed in. She was memorizing, and I knew that I had to get close to create a portrait that really focused on her eyes.
