Leaf Lines — I was walking my dog around the neighborhood playground area while my kids were off climbing who knows what! Amongst the tall trees that had just begun to turn colors, I looked down on the ground and saw this bright, red leaf calling out to me, "Don't leaf me alone!"...boom boom tiss...sorry, I couldn't resist.

I knew I had to shoot it and these lines were just so amazing that I had to get the light behind it. I took it home, taped it to a tupperware container and brought it outside on the sidewalk. I strapped my camera to a homemade slide rail made from a block of wood and then laid it on top of another piece of wood to easily slide it. I took three shots (not a lot of depth to a flat leaf, you know) and the stacked them in Photoshop. Brought it back into Lightroom 5 and boosted the contrast, clarity, and the highlights to bring out the lines a tad bit more.
