Even though Sundial Peak above Lake Blanche is a fairly iconic spot to photograph in Utah, my friend, Andy, and I have never been. With the fall season coming to a close we decided to head on up before all the leaves were gone.

While the trail doesn't let up at all, the hike up to Lake Blanche is quite enjoyable, especially with the mix of golden aspens and fresh snow.

Luckily, we got to the Lake with about 1 1/2 hrs to spare before sunset, because that was about as good as the light ever got. The clouds were moving in and out, so we had to just wait until they opened up just enough to reveal Sundial Peak in the background.

Thanks for looking.
