Last rays of light illuminate the incredible ripples of the Second Wave, transforming it into a breaking wave of sandstone. The shadows serve to isolate the majestic laminae and bring out the minute textures in the rock while drowning out the distracting cliffs in the background. Captured at Coyote Buttes North, Paria Canyon-Vermillion Cliffs Wilderness, Arizona.
