Bosque is one of my favorite places. This is where I started bird photography and I returned back there for the second time last year. Watching these beautiful Cranes take flight in unison is an awe inspiring experience, the moment where they start their run-up is always exciting to watch and a thrill to photograph, the sound of the splashing water and the trumpeting calls get louder as they go by you, leaving you exuberant.

When I got to the Crane pool early in the morning, it had a large group of cranes resting in it. I knew ahead of time that I wanted to isolate a small group of Cranes so I could create clean and clutter free images, I wanted to make sure that a pair of Cranes were the clear focus for the audience. I waited for about three hours as every now and then a small group would leave, towards the end a few Cranes were left and I knew that at that point I could focus on them and start making the images that were in my mind.
