This was probably the most incredible display of light I’ve witnessed. In the midst of monsoon season, patch thunderstorms rolled in and out of the area. It was my fortunate evening as some remaining storms positioned themselves perfectly over Horseshoe Bend as the sun set. Next, the sky transformed from blazing oranges to a blood red complete with vertical beams of rain igniting in color. The sunset was so intense the canyon walls glowed red and the water was catching the red reflections.
