The spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Mirozhsky monastery is located in a mouth of the river Mirozhi running into the river Great opposite to the Pokrovsk tower.
The glory of the Spaso-Preobrazhenskiy Mirozhsky monastery in Pskov is so great, as well as its antiquity. Based in the middle of XII century the Novgorod archbishop St. Nifontom, the monastery was the carrier of spiritual education, the keeper of traditions of church art and книжности.
