One of the shots I did for my wife's salon. They didnt have a photographer, so I go roped into doing it.
I figured it was a good learning experience on how to do fashion type work, which I've never done. i think some of my regular work style has spilled over into it.
I ended up using 4 lights for this, which i think is super overkill for fashion work, which i reckon is usually 1 or 2 lights.
I used a large 72" shoot thru umbrella as my main light, camera right. then a softbox, behind the model, also camera right as a rim light. On the left side i used my home-made beauty dish up high to light up the other side of the face a bit. then in the back corner a bare flash bounced off the wall for a bit more fill/rim lighting.
everyone seemed realy impressed at the time as we watched the images pop up on the laptop... but i wasnt really feeling it. after i had a chance to process them though, im much more satisfied with the results.
