After a mixed morning in Glen Coe including torrential rain and high winds, myself and a guest headed for the warmth and dry of the Glen Coe visitor centre to ponder our options. It looked as though the day was over from a photographic perspective but as we downed our coffees the deluge abated. Instead of heading back up into the glen we opted for the coast and Castle Stalker. Prospects for anything of any merit looked a forlorn hope as we stalked the beach for some foreground interest but then a glimmer of hope. An opening in the sky promised something more exciting and sure enough 10 minutes after sunset the skies turned rosy pink, mauve and finally purple. We had our shots and were thankful for a slice of luck. We felt we'd earned it.
