Saw this old man at the zoo on Saturday. He was so depressing to see, honestly. His entire posture was that of a broken spirit. Somebody who had given up hope of fulfilling whatever aspirations he had as an orangutan. People crowded around to see him, and he only shrunk further into his hammock, covering his face in shame. As if he knew he was nothing more to the world than a specimen to be ogled at through aquarium glass.
Looking at him, I felt he had a lot to share if he was given the ability to. So much wisdom in his old head, but unable to share it through his caged environment.
