I was in Israel on holiday in the middle of July and it was well above 100 ºF~30 ºC and wandering around Jerusalem "The Old City". I some how got lost and was in the Muslim Quarters and then ended up in East Jerusalem without crossing a check point (how I have no idea), well I was being very touristy as to not draw attention to myself. This photo is the only one I took while I was there. I saw this old woman walking slowly down a narrow street towards where I was standing. She was having difficulty with her balance I could tell by the way she was walking diagonally and couldn't keep her face covered with her burqa. She stopped about 10 feet in front of me and just dropped to the stone ground sitting on some cardboard and garbage and leaned up against this metal box that was protruding from the wall. I watched as people walked past her and no one paid her any notice. I could tell she was dehydrated. I don't speak Arabic but I extended my arm with my bottle of water and offered it to her. She eventually took it and said something in Arabic (I'm sure she was thanking me as I could see her relief from the water). Then off I went to find my way back to the Christian and Jewish quarters.
I did have to go through a checkpoint on my way back
