In the heart of Costa Rica lives a giant fire breathing dragon that rises high above a lush rainforest north of the capital city of San Jose. Its name is Arenal Volcano and at night you can see the orange glow of molten lava radiating from its peak.
To the east on the lower slopes of Arenal, is the small town of Fortuna, and if you drive 30 minutes east of Fortuna you come to the village of Mulle San Carlos on route 35, where you will find dragons of another sort hanging out at the Restaurante Las Iguanas.
When we arrived we discovered dozens of iguanas basking in the sun out front, hanging out in the branches of the trees along the river, and lying on the cool floor inside the restaurant.
This iguana is a mature male, which was about three feet in length (91 cm).

All the best,
