This rock shelf is located in Sydney’s beautiful northern beaches. Seasonally (and when conditions are right) the rocks get covered with a surreal green moss, which makes for spectacular shooting.
I’ve been meaning to get up here for some time, and after studying the tides, ephemeris, and weather conditions my time had come.
It was promised to be partly cloudy with some scattered showers, so my fingers were crossed that I’d be able to capture the sun peaking through some clouds as it rises over the horizon.
So I double checked the gear I needed, had it waiting at the door, up at 3:50am, dressed, into the car…
And it was all over in 0.8 seconds…
