Apologies to anyone who was expecting to see “other subjects” posted up here shortly after my last one of the Lion cub, but the day after my previous upload I decided to make a concerted effort and focus my attention on completing all the new information pages I've been working on for more than a month now, so I could get our Nature Impressions website up and running again, which is exactly what I did and, pleased to say, our full website is now open to all!

For as long as I can remember I've always wanted to work with animals; perhaps because as a kid I was relatively small and picked on at school I felt a kind of a bond with other creatures that seemed to live a fragile existence, and that had me feeling a need to protect them whenever I could. This empathy led to a growing interest and fascination with all forms of animals, which in turn kindled into a full-blown passion and, coupled with my desire to capture their beauty in some artistic way, my dream of becoming a professional wildlife photographer one day was born.

Some 22 years after my first visit to Khao Kheow Open Zoo (Chonburi, Thailand), I now find myself living more of my dream than at times I ever thought would be possible: not only am I sharing my work with others and being able to bring in an income, but I'm in a position with much potential for helping to sustain and make the lives of many animals more enjoyable.

While my wife manages our gallery, my principal goal now is doing whatever I can to increase awareness, interest and support - both here in Thailand and abroad - in and for Khao Kheow Open Zoo's wonderful animals as well as their ongoing projects and highly successful and internationally recognised breeding programmes, and one of the main ways I've planned on doing this is by way of our website.

You can find 14 pages of information related to Khao Kheow Open Zoo including separate pages dedicated to specific animals that have been born at there within the past 12 months; these pages, and others I will be adding in time, will be updated with the latest photos I take of each respective subject, so you can follow their growth and development if you like.

For those of you who may be curious to know a little more about me, I've also added an About the Photographer page, though as you might guess from the length of this, I have a propensity to draw things out, so be warned! Oh, and you can also finally see some photos of the real me on that page; much as I'd rather look like a Ring-Tailed Lemur - i.e. cuteness personified - for better or worse I am actually human ;^)

Lastly for now, all our photos are available for purchase through our website (there are at least three different professional print labs connected to the host that deliver both within the US and Canada as well as internationally), and a portion of all sales we make are donated directly to Khao Kheow Open Zoo for things like powdered milk and other greatly needed nutritional supplements for their infant and young animals, so customers of ours are also making contributions to their ongoing welfare.

Thanks for your time and attention!

P.S. Nearly forgot: The darling little subject you see above is Gollum, the young White-Handed (AKA Lar) Gibbon I introduced you to a short while ago by way of this image: Poor Little Gollum

I'll tell you a little more about Gollum in the next image I post up, hope you enjoy this one meantime!
