Yup, another shot from Assiniboine. But after making 7 trips up to this spot in under 3 days, with crazy perfect conditions, can you blame me for wanting to show off more?

This is a truly special moment captured during sunset in the Canadian Rockies. The beautiful Sunburst Peak draped in a blanket of backlight. No doubt Mount Assiniboine is the king of the area, however being hidden in clouds gave the Queen a chance to put on a magnificent show of her own!

This image encompasses a massive 180 degree field of view, to capture a unique angle and to show the true scale of the landscape. I wish I could say I found this spot deliberately, but honestly I tripped and feel into this small pit by accident. Luckily not ruining the snow on the rocks surrounding me.

I would have to say this shot encompasses all the skills I have acquired over the last year of learning and shooting. As the amazing photographer Erin Babnik would say, this image includes monaxial field of view augmentation, retroactive terrain proportioning, amalgamation of exposures, and the accumulation of focus points for absolute perfect detail. Say that three times fast!

Thanks for looking.
