Space Shuttle DISCOVERY (OV-103)'s Final Flight, IX

Space Shuttle DISCOVERY (OV-103) strutted her stuff for the last time today on a piggy-packed flight atop a Boeing 747 carrier jet to her final resting spot, the Smithsonian Institute Air & Space Museum's Annex near Dulles International Airport which is named the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. Before making her final stop however, she flew up, back, and across the Potomac River for observers to see her in mulitple locations across the DC Metro area. I hurried from my job at the Pentagon this morning over to Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB) where I took these pictures. I missed her first pass as I was stuck waiting to get in the main gate. By the time she was about to pass back overhead I pulled off into the nearest parking lot and started snapping away. These are the photos I got nearby the base marina. As always, enjoy and let me know what you think! Very respectfully, Jim
