This year has been lean for me! Seems like every time I head out to shoot, the skies fail to impress. Then when I'm homebound, the sunsets have been stellar. Can't complain, though. Last year brought me more good work than was to be expected. So last night when I saw a potential for some sunset color, I only had about 15 minutes to get somewhere. I knew where some early wheat was, so that was my aim. I was lucky, however, and came up on this field before I reached the other one, so I didn't have to do the chinese fire drill routine while setting up my gear; I could take a little more time getting things ready. The early wheat really glows at the very last light and I was also fortunate that there was virtually no breeze!
