The famous bridge of Big Sur. I had to wait a long time in the middle of the night for this car to come along.
The next morning my friend and I were traveling down the coastal highway towards San Luis Obispo when a woman decided to cross over the double yellow lines in order to get to a pull off on our side of the road (she wanted to take a picture of the ocean with her iPhone). When she saw us rounding the corner she stopped her car fully in our lane (deer in the headlights) and so my friend hit his brakes and as we approached her, it looked like we would just skim her, but she hit the gas and hard, resulting in a head on collision which decimated my friends' car and broke my 12-24mm lens, and which gave us both a case of whiplash, and me, bruised ribs and now for some reason Anemia… getting really well acquainted with the hospital staff. But a day above ground is always better than the opposite. We got lucky. We were close to a 300 foot drop… things could have gone very differently.
