Lily of the Valley,
French: muguet, lis des vallées
Dutch: Lelietjes van Dalen
... an erect low-growing perennial herb of the genus Convallaria (C. majalis) that has two large oblong lanceolate leaves and a raceme of fragrant nodding bell-shaped white flowers.
May 1 is "La Fête du Muguet", and the tradition is to give the ones you love a sprig of Muguet, for good luck and to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
We'd joined a Canadian photo enthusiast lady on a visit here in the South, we met through a photo-site, who offered me those.
How sweet is that!
We spend two lovely days together, yes with lots of photography and laughter.
It was all over too quickly, I took the flowers home, and... in the studio... where I photographed them for you and me, to enjoy forever.
