While I just "Liked" your picture. The Dislike button serves a very valid purpose. Are ALL of our photos SO WONDERFUL that NO ONE should EVER DISLIKE them?????? I think not. We are not so special as people or photographers that we should be able to take a little criticism once in a while. Do people abuse the dislike button? Probably. However there are just as many people who click on Like just because they know the person without taking into account if it's truly a good photograph or if it's only ok and could use some criticism on how to make it better.

yes, but when voting "dislike" only when a photo is up and want to make it down to raise her own .... does not seem right, many of us that happens when ours photos are always in home page among the most valued, and if between 1500 visits only one or two negative vote to lower it, is it not curious?
would be more correct if you like a picture you say it, but if you do not like no negative votes and leave a comment saying do not you like it, it's better, no?

Your shot is very nice, but I do not agree with your statement. The "Dislike" option of this site is what keeps it from not being just another site. As artist, we should all be able to take criticism and the "Dislike" feature is a simple and basic form of just that. Removing the dislike functionality would than make it just like asking your friend if your work is good, they say "oh yes, very nice". Which gets you no feedback, no education and no growth to make the next photo you take even better. I do agree though that I don't agree with the anonymity of the button, I wish it recorded whom disliked your photo so you could facilitate feedback if you liked.
