These two planes are World War II vintage fighters. The bottom plane is a Bristol Beaufighter. Built in the Britain, it was used as a night fighter in the US Army Air Force until a suitable night fighter could be built in the U.S.
The hanging plane is a Stearman PT-13D Kaydet. This plane was used as a training aircraft in the U.S. from the mid 1930's through World War II. Thousands of pilots trained in the Stearman.
