LEAF AND VEINS
A macro photograph of a rainforest leaf in Costa Rica reveals the intricate geometry of the veins transporting water and minerals from the root of the plant to the leaf.
Without leaves turning carbon dioxide into oxygen thru photosynthesis life on earth would soon diminish. It is actually the Phloem veins which moves the sap enriched by dissolved sucrose, produced by the photosynthesis, out of the leafs.
To me this almost looks like an aerial photograph with mountain ridges and rivers. I rarely photograph solely abstract patterns in nature but I could not pass the opportunity to capture the fascinating geometry of the veins in a leaf with almost turquoise color.
