The day after our 2nd Annual Dirt Cheap Photo Tour completed, Jeff Clow and I went out on our own early and we had a spectacular day. On the way to Moose-Wilson road, we first ran into a fox, an osprey, and a herd of elk. Finally, we ran into this guy and his mate. There were two other photographers trying to shoot this guy from the road but he ran off into the marsh so they left. I figured they would come out again so I hiked around to the other side to get a better view and waited. Sure enough, he came right out and gave us both a wonderful view. About fifteen minutes later, other photographers saw Jeff and I out in the field so hoards of them came out to do the same. We started a moose jam! Sweet!

The moose (North America) or European elk (Europe) (Alces alces) is the largest extant species in the deer family. Moose are distinguished by the palmate antlers of the males; other members of the family have antlers with a "twig-like" configuration. Moose typically inhabit boreal and mixed deciduous forests of the Northern Hemisphere in temperate to subarctic climates.
