After a case of insomnia on Friday night / Saturday morning I decided to head out 2 hours before sunrise to joust with the morning light.

Standing beside the Mary Valley Highway whilst there was only a the slightest glimmer of light on the horizon is a somewhat daunting task.

I kept having to restart my long exposures as the traffic was, whilst not heavy, constant enough that I couldn't get a 2 minute exposure without some awkward lighting from the passing cars.

This one itself is a 1 minute exposure. The capture was quite amazing as it was dark enough that I needed a torch just to walk around.
