I took this in the Nubra valley in Ladakh, part of the Indian Himalayas. It was shortly after sunrise and the faint sunlight (it was largely overcast) had a fragile quality.
Though inhabited, Nubra is truly the back of beyond - the mountains you see there are Himalayan peaks, all upwards of 5000m (15,000ft). It's hard to convey their scale in photos. I've settled for trying to convey the beauty of the region.
