The Atlantic Rainforest is full of winged jewels, and the Pin-tailed Manakin is certainly one of them. Like most manakins, they "dance" to attract the females, in an elaborate display raising the bright red rump feathers, short rapid flights and snapping sounds with its wings. This is their main occupation throughout their lives in the forest understory.
