The Tufa Towers of Mono Lake
Vasu and I packed our bags and we hit the road to capture the early sun shine on Convict lake and Sun Set over Tufa formations, on our way we have reading the road signs, we realized that due to unexpected Snow Storm in Sierra that too end of may, has shut Tioga Pass, I-180, by then it was too late as we do not wanted to return home, and we made a right call "Yes" whatever the route is and what soever the weather condition is, we have decided that we need to make it by sun rise, we started at the at bay area at 11:00pm and as per GPS we were supposed to reach by 3:45 am, with all detours and adventure of driving in pitch zero visibility approximation of 10 feet and with help of GPS we drove 7 hours and reached Mono lake just after sun rise,
Okay not bad ... we missed the sun rise but not this shot !! :)
This trip was adventurous, continuous driving for 24 hours, scouting for locations in and around Sierra, a trip full of learning which I would not forget!!
one thing is for sure anything is possible when your passion is the driving force.....
